This book aims to summarize the current state of the field of Environmental Mineralogy, the field of mineralogy that "seeks to define the roles of minerals in environmental systems, and to work towards the preservation and restoration of such systems". The book is split into four broad sections, mineral-microbe interactions, anthropogenic influences on mineral interactions, minerals in contaminated environments and minerals and waste management.
